Questions
If yours is not here, call the front desk or send a message.
Do I need a referral?
In Minnesota you can start physical therapy without a referral. Your plan or your employer may still ask for one. Most of our patients come with a referral from a physician's office, and we send that office a note. Call with your plan card and we will check before you book.
Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?
We bill many kinds of plans, including most commercial plans, Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation and auto injury coverage. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit.
What if I pay myself?
We give you a written estimate before your first visit, and you pay on the day of each visit. If your plan may reimburse you, we give you a detailed receipt to send in. Your plan decides whether it pays.
How long is a visit, and who treats me?
Your first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist. Later visits can be shorter. A physical therapist assistant may guide some of your exercises, under your therapist's direction.
How many visits will I need?
That depends on what your therapist finds, what your physician's plan says, what you need to be able to do again and how you respond. Your therapist talks it through with you and changes the plan as you go.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear clothes you can move in, with the area we will treat easy to reach. Bring your plan card, a photo ID, a list of your medicines and any paperwork your doctor's office gave you.
Will it hurt?
We work within what you can tolerate. You may feel some effort or soreness as you start to move more. Tell your therapist what you feel, and they change what you are doing.
Do you offer video visits?
Some follow-up visits can be by video for patients who are in Minnesota, where our therapists are licensed. Your therapist tells you at your evaluation whether it fits your care.
What about a work or auto injury?
Tell us who your adjuster is when you call. Your state decides who may direct your care, and we explain what that means for you.
Can a referral go to any of your sites?
Yes. Every site reads referrals from the same line. If the referral does not name a site, we offer the patient the one nearest home or work, and we can move a patient to another site later.

Tell your therapist what is bothering you in your own words when you come in. The form does not ask for it.
